Yesterday I was absolutely honoured to be published in a magazine I have admired for a long time - Tavi Gevinson's Rookie. Rookie is not solely literature, but actually amalgamates collections of visual art, advice, writing (mostly non-fiction but fiction as well) from young girls around the world. As a teenager, it never fails to inspire and reassure me and for years I've hoped that something I write will one day end up in Rookie (although I've probably submitted a total of about two pieces, so this was a particularly optimistic goal!).
Anyway - I submitted Hands as part of a Creative Prompt open call for work that Rookie put out last week, and it was selected to be published along with a couple of other responses, much to my delight! You can read it here.
I am forever in awe of what Tavi has managed to achieve with Rookie, which I highly recommend to anyone who has not yet read it.
